Electricity
A tariff where we offer a single fixed electricity price per kilowatt-hour (kWh), which remains unchanged for the entire duration of the contract (for example, 12 months). This tariff allows you to know exactly how much you will pay for each consumed kWh. It enables you to easily plan your budget and protects you from sudden price fluctuations in the electricity market; however, in the long term, it is usually slightly more expensive than the Spot price tariff because we assume the price fluctuation risk to ensure your daily peace of mind and avoid unpleasant surprises on your bill.
In the case of the Spot price or Active tariff, the fee for electricity changes every 15 minutes according to the prices on the Nord Pool electricity exchange, to which a trade service fee for providing the service is applied. In summer, on days with high solar and wind energy generation, prices can be very low (even negative), while in cold or cloudy weather, they can rise. By using electricity during periods when the Spot price is lower (for example, at night, in the afternoon, or on weekends), you can significantly reduce your bill, but you must actively follow the prices, assume the price risk for possible price fluctuations in the market, and plan your consumption to utilize the most favorable price periods (for example, doing laundry at night).
This is a tariff with fixed hourly rates for different time zones of the day or week. Unlike other fixed tariffs, it has two different hourly rates: one for the cheaper time zone when consuming electricity is more advantageous, adapting it to your daily routine and habits, and another for the rest of the day, which has a higher price. We offer everyone the opportunity to choose the time zone tariff that is most advantageous for their consumption habits. For example, if a client works from home on weekdays, we offer to choose a tariff where the price is cheaper during this time. On the other hand, when using electricity during other periods, the price will be fixed, and even in these periods, the price could still be more favorable than the current price with another supplier. Additionally, there is no need to worry about Nord Pool exchange price fluctuations, and you can feel at ease and more easily adapt to your cheap price zones because they are cyclical and predictable throughout the contract duration. The more energy the client consumes in the cheaper time zone, the lower the final bill will be.
- Homey: The lowest price hours are everyday from 02:00 to 06:00 and from 12:00 to 16:00.
- Night Saver: The lowest price hours are everyday from 00:00 to 06:00.
- Productive: The lowest price hours are on weekdays from 08:00 to 17:00.
- Weekender: The lowest price hours are on weekends and public holidays from 09:00 to 18:00.
- Everyday: The lowest price hours are everyday from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 18.00 to 21.00.
Additional info: For all these 4 plans, the electricity price during the advantageous hours is 0.06510€/kWh, while at other times it is 0.14490€/kWh. A fixed monthly fee of 2.00€/month is also applied to each plan.
Yes! You can change your current electricity product or tariff plan to another one in the customer service portal mans.ignitis.lv. Tariff plans can be changed until the 9th date of each month for the new tariff to take effect on the first date of the following month and without an additional tariff change fee. The product or tariff can be changed no more than once a month.
Comparison with the fixed tariff: The personalized tariff will almost always be more advantageous than the fixed one because it is tailored to your consumption rather than average indicators.
Comparison with the Spot price tariff: The personalized tariff is safer than the Spot price tariff. The Spot price tariff is suitable for those who have time and like to follow the market to save even more, assuming the price fluctuation risk and actively tracking prices.
If you want to predictably adapt your consumption and pay less, choose the personalized tariff.
Yes, we do. Go here to find out the conditions. Under this tariff, the supplier offers a specific price per kilowatt-hour (kWh) that is constant for the entire duration of the contract (for example, 12 months). This tariff allows you to know exactly how much you will pay for each consumed kWh. It allows for easy budget planning and protects against sudden price fluctuations in the electricity market; however, to cover its risk regarding price fluctuations, the Supplier usually sets a higher price than the current Spot price. The universal tariff has no monthly fee and can be advantageous in properties with irregular consumption, such as a summer cottage.
Fixed price ensures an unchanged electricity price for the entire contract term (for example, 12 or 24 months), providing predictability.
Variable price (Spot price) changes every 15 minutes according to market fluctuations. It can be more advantageous in the long run, but requires tracking of the price and shifting consumption to cheaper time periods if you want to save.
By choosing a personalized tariff, it is possible to reduce bills for electricity consumption. By evaluating customers' electricity usage habits (hours of the day, days of the week, electricity-consuming appliances), we offer the most suitable electricity tariff for their needs. The tariff rate is fixed for 12 months without a contract termination fee and with the option to change the tariff plan at any time.
Electricity prices in the Baltics are determined by the Nord Pool Spot exchange. Each country has its own price region where the price of electricity changes every 15 minutes. You can view the current prices of the Nord Pool exchange Latvian price area at this link. In the app "Ignitis Latvija", you can view current Nord Pool exchange prices by 15 minutes to plan consumption at the most advantageous time.
In the open electricity market, electricity is traded based on the 15-minute interval consumption principle. If a client does not have a smart meter installed, i.e., the client's meter does not record 15-minute consumption, the distribution of electricity consumed during the day is applied for settlements according to the typical load profile determined by the system operator.
The contract is concluded for 12 months for exchange and personalized products, while for the fixed product (named Mierpilnais), the duration is available for 12 and 24 months. During the contract period, the conditions will remain unchanged. 6 weeks before the end of the contract term, a proposal for the next 12 months will be sent to the client, and if the conditions satisfy the client, the Contract will automatically renew. If the client wishes to change the tariff or supplier, it can be done without a contract termination/tariff change fee. Currently, the Tariff (price) is valid until the Monday of the first week of each month. At the beginning of the next month, it may be changed or the existing price period may be extended.
Contracts
A contract can be concluded at any time, and the electricity supplier can be changed from the first date of any month, but no earlier than the first date of the next month if the Contract is concluded later than the 9th date of the current month. To ensure the new contract is valid from the 1st date of the next month, your chosen supplier must be notified by the 9th date of the current month.
This can be done on any date of the current month. This differs from a supplier change, which must mandatory begin on the first date of the month. Such a contract can be concluded on any date of the month, and there is no need to wait. Remember that the user change must be applied for within the current month, and the start date can be any date, for example, the 1st or 21st, depending on the date you take over the property. Sadales tīkls will inform the current contract holder. If the current contract holder does not object — the contract takes effect from the day of the current month that you specified to the electricity supplier when you took over the property.
According to Cabinet of Ministers (MK) Regulations No. 50, if the trade period specified in the contract exceeds two years, the fee for early termination may only be applied during the first two (2) years from the start. For example: if a contract is concluded with a term of 2 or more years, the contract termination fee can be applied for two years, and it will decrease by $1/8$ of the original amount each quarter until it reaches zero. The supplier has the right to demand a fee. However, if the supplier changes the contract conditions (for example, the price) during the first two years, you have the right to terminate the contract without the application of an early termination fee.
No. Changing the supplier does not affect the quality of electricity delivery, as AS "Sadales tīkls" is responsible for it, which is independent of suppliers and manages the common grid.
You have the right to terminate the contract within 14 days from the moment of its conclusion if it was concluded remotely. Usually, the supplier must be notified about this in writing.
Becoming a client is simple and fast: Log in using an e-signature or Smart ID on the portal mans.ignitis.lv; Choose to conclude a contract; Choose a property address belonging to you where you wish to purchase electricity; Choose the most suitable product for you; Confirm the contract on the website mans.ignitis.lv. We will handle all other matters related to the supplier change. The electricity supplier change for the next month must be requested by the 9th date of the month.
An early contract termination fee is not applied to contracts concluded with Ignitis Latvija.

Concluding a contract for several addresses simultaneously is not possible. Each address must have a separate contract.
You can change your electricity supplier once a month. To ensure the new contract is valid from the 1st date of the next month, your chosen supplier must be notified by the 9th date of the current month.
Yes, you can conclude the contract remotely on the website, by choosing the appropriate tariff here and pressing "Sign contract".
The person concluding the contract does not mandatory have to be the property owner. You can conclude a contract for a specific property even if you are a tenant, a relative of yours lives in the property, or there is any other reason why you wish to make electricity payments for this property.
Full information about data processing is available here.
If the customer has already concluded a contract with another supplier at the property, submitting additional documents to Ignitis Latvija is not necessary. Conversely, for a new property or if the person changes, the following will be required:
- For owners (Land Register certificate and identity document);
- For tenants (valid lease contract);
- For everyone (meter acceptance-transfer deed/fixed reading).
If there are co-owners, the consent of the other co-owners may be required.
Bills, meters and payment
The bill includes:
- Tariff (the tariff plan that Ignitis offers);
- Monthly fee (€0–3.59 with VAT, Ignitis Latvija applies €2.00 to all except Universal);
- Balancing fee (per kWh, determined by AST, from July 1, 2025, Ignitis displays it separately) Regulēšanas un sistēmas nebalansa cenas | AST;
- Fee for electricity delivery (per kWh, determined by Sadales tīkls) Sadales sistēmas pakalpojumu tarifi I Sadales tīkls;
- Fee for capacity maintenance (fixed monthly fee, determined by Sadales tīkls);
- VAT 21% is added to each of the components in the bill.
Ignitis Latvija offers personalized tariffs, by choosing which it is possible to reduce the bill. To obtain maximum savings, the customer needs to adapt their electricity usage habits. For example – change the charging time in the electric car charging settings to hours when there is a lower tariff, or when working from home, plan for washing clothes and roasting/baking to be scheduled during the cheapest hours.
The balancing capacity maintenance fee is a new electricity market payment introduced in Latvia at the beginning of 2025 and applies to all final consumers because it is calculated based on consumed volume (kWh). AS "Augstsprieguma tīkls" (AST) applies this fee from July 1, 2025. It is included in the bill as a separate line. Starting from January 1, 2026, the price will be applied according to the current fee amount published by AST on its website here. The fee is necessary to ensure a stable and continuous supply, maintaining the balance between generation and consumption every second. It covers costs for reserved generation resources ready to turn on immediately.
If the contract is concluded by the 9th date of this month, Ignitis Latvija will be able to start providing the service from the 1st date of the next month. For example, if the contract takes effect on October 1, the first bill will be issued on November 10. Conversely, if the contract is concluded after September 9, the service for the client will start on November 1, and the first bill will be in December, but you will be able to pay the bill until the 21st date.
In case of late bill payment, late payment interest is 0.15% for each calendar day overdue, starting from the first overdue day.
If a smart meter is installed, information about hourly consumption is available on the Ignitis Latvija self-service portal www.mans.ignitis.lv in the Ignitis Latvija mobile app (App Store or Google Play store), and on the "Sadales tīkls" self-service portal www.e-st.lv.
The monthly service fee is a component of the electricity bill. Together with the price per kilowatt-hour (kWh), it forms the total fee for electricity. The fee is applied to ensure customer service and support, which includes invoicing and call center services.
A smart electricity meter is an electricity consumption measuring device that allows data to be read and the device to be serviced remotely. Furthermore, these meters offer broader opportunities to follow and analyze your home's 15-minute interval energy consumption. The installation and maintenance of smart meters are carried out by AS "Sadales tīkls".
Yes, if you have concluded a contract for the purchase of electricity for several properties, they will all be included in one bill.
Yes, when making the monthly bill payment, it is possible to transfer a larger amount than indicated on the bill. After paying the specific bill, the remaining amount will serve as an advance for the next months' settlements.
To calculate the fee for distribution system services, we invite you to use the AS "Sadales tīkls" tariff calculator.

If the support payment is greater than the amount for electricity and system services, the unused fee reduction is automatically applied to settlements for the next month. The savings balance is deleted at the end of each calendar year or in the event of a change in the provider. It is not possible to receive the amount of the fee reduction in cash to a bank account.
Green energy
'Green energy' is electricity generated from renewable resources, such as wind, solar, or hydroelectric power plants. Suppliers that offer this energy issue guarantees of origin.
All electricity that we offer to households is from renewable resources, with a green energy certificate, and generated right here in Latvia, in solar parks in Latvia (Tume, Stelpe, and Varme).
"Ignitis Latvija" is an energy company operating in the Latvian market and is part of the Lithuanian state-owned "Ignitis Group" – one of the largest energy utility groups in the Baltic States. The company's main goal is to promote the transition to green energy and provide modern energy services.
Each month, the volume of kWh consumed by green electricity customers is covered by guarantees of origin purchased from renewable energy producers. Guarantees of origin are the only legally correct form in Europe to prove the origin of energy.
By purchasing green electricity, you reduce your home's impact on the environment and promote the generation of renewable energy because your spent funds go to renewable energy producers. Renewable energy is not only a cheaper energy resource, but also significantly less CO₂ is released into the atmosphere during its production process.
