Natural Gas for Households

To become an Ignitis customer and receive natural gas, you must:

Have a built-out natural gas connection (infrastructure is provided by AS "Gaso").

Sign a natural gas trade agreement with Ignitis. The most convenient way to do this is in our self-service portal mans.ignitis.lv.

How fast does the change of trader happen? To start receiving natural gas as early as the 1st of the next month, the contract with Ignitis must be signed by the 15th of the current month. We will take care of all formalities and inform the distribution system operator AS "Gaso" about the change of trader.

The contract can be signed by the property owner or a person with legal usage rights (e.g., a tenant).

For the owner: A document proving property rights (Land Register certificate) and an identification document.

For the tenant: A valid lease agreement.

For everyone: A natural gas meter handover-acceptance act (recording the reading at the time of takeover). If gas is already connected at the property, the last known meter reading is sufficient.

Important! If the property has multiple co-owners, the consent of the other co-owners may be required to sign the contract.

Important! If you currently have a contract for this property with another gas trader, submitting these documents is not required; they are needed when changing the contract holder.

In Latvia, the unified distribution system operator AS "Gaso" is responsible for gas pipeline infrastructure and meter installation.

First, you must contact Gaso to obtain technical regulations and construct the connection. This can be done on the Gaso customer portal mans.gaso.lv.

Once the physical connection is built, you must choose a supplier. Contact Ignitis to sign a supply agreement – without this, Gaso cannot activate the gas supply or install a meter.

Recommendation: Installing a connection is a time-consuming process (design, coordination, construction), so we invite you to start planning well in advance.

To ensure an accurate bill, meter readings must be submitted every month during a specific period: from the 27th to the first working day of the next month.

How should meter readings be reported? You can submit readings on the AS “Gaso” customer portal by going to the website www.gaso.lv

To submit readings directly in the Gaso system, proceed as follows:

• Go to the Gaso customer portal mans.gaso.lv;
• Log in using internet banking, eSignature, or email/password;
• In the “Submission of readings” section, enter the current meter reading (only whole numbers without decimal points);
• Press “Save”.

Important! Take note of only the black digits on the meter (cubic meters). You do not need to enter the red digits (liters).
