How does electricity officially become "green"?
For every 1 MWh produced from renewable resources, one unique green certificate is issued. It serves as a "passport stamp" that prevents the same amount of green electricity from being sold twice. For companies, purchasing these certificates is a paid service for sustainability (ESG) goals, but for our private individuals, it is free – already included in the selected tariff.
