What is the exchange price market?
It is a free energy market where the value of electricity is determined by auction, similar to a stock exchange. Nord Pool is the leading electricity exchange in Northern Europe and the Baltics, where prices are set every 15 minutes by real supply and demand. If it’s windy and sunny outside, prices drop; if demand is massive, they rise.
Whether you track exchange prices or not, your bill is calculated using a simple formula:
Consumption (kWh) × Nord Pool Price + Trading Commission + Monthly Fee + Distribution Grid Services = Your Bill
Your monthly consumption is multiplied by the current Nord Pool price, adding the trading commission, a €2.00 monthly fee, and your Distribution Grid services. As a result, your bill remains mathematically precise, transparent, and completely under your control every month.
